Smithsonian Institution Fellowship Program (SIFP)

The Office of Academic Appointments and Internships (OAAI) is pleased to announce the opening of the Smithsonian Institution Fellowship Program (SIFP) application cycle! The SIFP offers in-resident opportunities for independent research or study related to Smithsonian collections, facilities, and/or research interests of the Institution and its staff. Fellowships are offered to graduate students, predoctoral students, and postdoctoral and senior researchers to conduct independent research and to utilize the resources of the Institution with members of the Smithsonian professional research staff serving as advisors and hosts.

NEW AMERICAN PAINTINGS JURIED EXIBITION IN PRINT

New American paintings juried exibition in print, Since 1993, New American Paintings has helped introduce the work of hundreds of emerging artists to an international audience. Each bi-monthly issue results from a rigorous review process that is presided over by a range of art world professionals; the forty artists selected to appear are given their space for free. The juror of The 2026 MFA Annual will be Claire Howard, Hansjorg Wyss Curator of Modern Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

FUNDED STUDIO RESIDENCY AT MASS MOCA FOR 2023-2026 MASSART GRADS!

Apply now for the 2026 MASS MoCA Studios Residency! The MassArt Graduate Programs are pleased to continue our partnership with MASS MoCA, offering annual funded residency opportunities for MassArt graduate alumni. This year, any current master’s degree candidate in their final year, or any grad programs alum with a graduation date of 2023-2026 is eligible to apply for a fully-funded residency of up to 4 weeks!*

The upcoming MASS MoCA residency season runs from July – December 2026. Residency dates are mutually determined by the awardee’s and MASS MoCA’s availability. Prospective residents apply directly with The Studios at MASS MoCA and, if selected, will be funded by the MassArt Graduate Programs for the full cost of the residency.

The deadline to apply is November 1, 2025.

*MassArt funding is only available for our current grad or grad alums with graduation date of 2023-2026, but this call is open to all, with other external fellowships and financial aid available!
