NEW STUDENT CHECKLIST
REVIEW THE CHECKLIST IN YOUR APPLICATION STATUS PORTAL
- Log on to your Application Status Portal to view detailed information on the Next Steps tab, and the current status of your checklist items, on the Home tab.
- International students: log on to your Application Status Portal to view detailed information on the International tab and the current status of your checklist items, on the Home tab. You can find more detailed information on these requirements on our website.
√ IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
It is particularly important to submit your Immunization records in your Application Status Portal. If immunization records are not submitted, a restriction will be placed on student’s accounts that prevents future term registration.
√ SWITCH TO MASSART EMAIL
- After the semester starts, we will contact you by your MassArt email address only – please check it daily! Contact the IT Helpdesk (Tech Central) helpdesk@massart.edu (or by phone at 617-879-7888), for assistance with your MassArt email address or password.
√ COVID SAFETY AND VACCINATION
Covid Safety and Vaccination
See the Community Health and Well-Being page of the MassArt website. While no longer a requirement, it is strongly encouraged that all students (both residential and non-residential), staff, and faculty are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and have at least one dose of the bivalent booster.
√ UPDATE YOUR MAILING ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER
If your home address or phone number changes during the course of your program, please alert the graduate programs office directly at gradprogram@massart.edu.
√ ART EDUCATION MTEL TESTS
Students enrolling in MassArt’s Masters and Post-baccalaureate teaching programs take the MTEL tests. Register online for these two subtests: Communication and Literacy, and Visual Art.
√ M.ARCH PROGRAM EVALUATION DOCUMENTATION
All M.Arch students must submit documentation of prior Architecture courses for review against possible course exemptions or transfer. Documentation should be submitted through the Application Portal, prior to the start of the fall term. See also ACADEMIC POLICIES for more info.
√ GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS: ID FOR WORK ELIGIBILITY
In order to be eligible to work in the US, students must complete an I-9 form along with other paperwork. Students need to make sure they have access to the types of IDs required on the I-9 form, and should review IRS Form I-9 for information on the IDs that are requested. You will be asked to do online payroll forms, including the I-9, after you have been contracted for a graduate assistantship. See the Graduate Assistantships page of this site, for information re: applying for graduate assistantship positions. If you have questions, please contact us at gradprogram@massart.edu.
