DORAN GRADUATE GALLERY | PAST EXHIBITION

IN DIALOGUE

September 18 – October 8, 2023

MassArt’s Doran Graduate Gallery is pleased to present In Dialogue, a student-curated show. featuring the works of Patrick Brennan (MFA ’24 3D), Natalie Brescia (MFA ’24 Photography), Danielle Richard (MFA ’24 2D), Yulia Spiridonova (MFA ’24 Photography), and Zo Watts (MFA ’24 3D).

In Dialogue serves as a contrast between the lesser-known narratives that often remain behind closed doors, and the strictures of our identities that exist in the public sphere. By giving space to both vulnerable personal narrative and uncompromising social conditioning, the emotional terrain of taboo matters can come to light. In a world where public narratives dominate, In Dialogue aims to create a space where intimate stories can find validation and resonance. The show encourages consideration of the power of individual lives to shape collective memory, and in doing so, transform collective experience. This exhibition features performance, photography, painting, sculpture, and mixed media works that speak to the importance of open dialogue and understanding between public and private relationships.

In Dialogue features work from the following artists:

  • Patrick Brennan
  • Natalie Brescia
  • Danielle Richard
  • Yulia Spiridonova
  • Zo Watts
