MASSART HEALTH INSURANCE
For information on the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), offered in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, for 2024-25, see MassArt Health Insurance, and select the waive or enroll link. For any questions regarding the Massachusetts College of Art & Design Student Health Insurance Plan, contact University Health Plans at 1-833-251-1710 or info@univhealthplans.com.
Students generally enroll in full year health insurance which starts August 1st. For programs starting in summer, Health Insurance is charged for all months students are on campus, usually June – August. Charges for August are prorated on a students’ fall term student insurance.
MassArt Health insurance, or an equivalent and approved alternate insurance policy, is required for any graduate student enrolled in 7 or more credits in a term (3/4 full time Graduate enrollment), and taking courses on campus or at an on-site location, or when participating in any on-campus activities. Health Insurance will be charged to graduate students enrolled in 7 credits or more (as described), unless an insurance waiver is provided prior to the billing date, or prior to the start of the term. Waive or enroll in college health insurance by June 30. This requirement does not apply to students who are taking all of their courses via online platforms, and who will not participate in campus activities during the term. Also, the current MassArt website states a 9-credit minimum for college health insurance but this is the Undergraduate credit minimum, and is higher than the 7-credit minimum for graduate programs.
Waive and enroll in college health insurance here.
