MassArt’s Doran Graduate Gallery is pleased to present North 280, a student-curated show featuring the works of Patrick Brennan and Zo Watts:
The gallery space itself is designed to reflect the very studio that serves as the artistic crucible for these two creators. Filled with an array of tactile installations, evocative sculptures, and thought-provoking mixed media pieces, each artwork unravels the narrative of entropy’s stealthy intrusion into their artistic sanctuary.
The artistic process is laid bare as the exhibit showcases the passage of time and the organic chaos that inevitably unfolds. Through the careful arrangement of objects, discarded materials become artifacts of a creative dialogue, transcending their utilitarian purpose. The studio room is reimagined as an evolving ecosystem, where entropy’s relentless influence manifests in the arrangement of scattered sculptures, disheveled fabric, and fragmented sketches.
