A FERVENT CHORUS | 2025 MFA THESIS EXHIBITION
On View: April 22 – May 30
Reception + Media Installation: Friday, May 9 | 5:00 to 8:00PM | OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
MassArt’s Doran Graduate Gallery is pleased to present A FERVENT CHORUS on view from April 22 – May 30. The on-campus, student-curated component of the Spring 2025 MFA Thesis showcases work from the thirteen graduating MFA candidates in Photography, 2D/3D Studio Arts, and Film/Video. Join us for a reception (5-8pm) and special, one-night only, Media Installation in D309, on Friday, May 9.
In rare moments, paths cross and something remarkable emerges out of people making a space their own, together. Over the past two years, thirteen artists have worked alongside each other to realize thirteen provocative bodies of work. This exhibition marks the culmination of these students’ Master of Fine Arts thesis. Working across a dynamic range of disciplines, from printmaking to hand-scratched 16 mm film, these graduates explore identity, memory, power, and mythology in dynamically different ways. The diverse forms of making represented here weave into a larger narrative that speaks to resilience and tenacity, transcending any one medium. The 2025 MFA class invites viewers to contemplate what meaning or force arises from the sum of many voices.
