Academic Policies
Students are responsible for being aware of academic policies. Students and faculty should note that some graduate policies differ from the undergraduate academic policies posted online in the College’s academic catalog. When downloading the PDF, you may navigate to specific topic headers by viewing the bookmarks in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Please refer to the Graduate Academic Policy Document.
Academic Calendar
The Academic Calendar is updated in advance of each semester/academic year.
College Policies
Students must abide by the college policies as outlined in the Student Handbook including the Community Standards as described in the handbook. Note that the academic policies listed in the Student Handbook apply to undergraduate students, and that the Graduate Academic Policies are linked above.
Program Requirements
Review your program requirements in one of 3 ways. Requirements are available in students’ Progress, in Self-Service as described below. For direct links in MassArt’s Academic Catalog, select Graduate Program for master’s degrees or Post-Baccalaureate Program for the Photography, Design/DMI, or Teacher Preparation post-baccalaureate programs. The Academic Catalog is updated for each academic year, and these links change accordingly. When using the catalog, check that you are in the catalog for the current year. On MassArt.edu each program page includes a link to the requirements.
Program Requirements and Progress – in Self-Service
Log onto Self-Service with your MassArt NetID and password to review your: course schedule, program requirements, program plan or progress, transfer credit evaluation, and grades. You also register in Self-Service. Check your registration and progress for accuracy as you move through the program. Send questions about information in your Self-Service account to Nadia Savage at nsavage@massart.edu, and to your Program Director.
There are 3 areas of information for students in Self-Service:
- Registrar Self-Service site with instructions for program and course related issues.
- Student Financial Self-Service site with instructions provided by the Bursar’s Office.
- Financial Aid and Self-Service site.
