Saturday Studios features student work that has been created in the Saturday Studios program over the course of eight sessions during the Fall 2013 semester.  Included are works of a variety of media, exploring numerous realms of both 2D and 3D art.  Please join us in celebrating the unique expressions and perspectives of the students’ art, as well as the end of the Fall program. Part-time Teaching Artists for Boston Schools

ARCK (Art Resource Collaborative for Kids) is seeking teaching artists to work in Boston schools in Jamaica Plain and Allston. ARCK brings arts education to students K-8 in Boston Public Schools that don’t have an art program. They need  several Teaching Artists to start almost immediately.

Art Education students are eligible to apply.

Aimee DeBose Receives MAEA Award


The Massachusetts Art Education Association has chosen our own Aimee DeBose as the 2014 Higher Education Art Educator of the Year.  

Aimee will be receiving the award on November 9 at the MAEA Fall Conference at the University of Massachusetts- Dartmouth.

A graduate of our MSAE program, Aimee taught for eight years at the K-5 level in the Ipswich Public Schools.  In the Art Education Department Aimee has taught a range of courses, including Art and Human Development, PrePracticum I (undergrad and grad), Portfolio, and Concepts and Processes for Classrooms.  She has played a large role in furthering the department’s relationship with the Bakalar/Paine Galleries, especially by involving the Prepracticum I students in Family Day.

Still Running: An Art Marathon for Boston is a greater Boston community art project originally started in response to the April 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Over the last six months Still Running has been organizing  an ongoing series of free community art-making events, and the Arnheim Gallery will host the first community art exhibition.
