We shall never cease from exploration
and the end of all our exploring
will be to arrive where we started
and know the place for the first time.

I create art so I can rediscover the fresh and vibrant vision of a child. Unable to accomplish this challenge on my own, my ceramic work is directly inspired by the child artist’s unselfconscious and spontaneous drawings. Children’s uninhibited truth and unabashed emotion shine through in their work. My pieces are a collaboration between their primal view and my knowledge and skill as a ceramicist.
For this exhibition I have dramatically edited my body of work. I am experimenting with aspects of scale and installation to honor the spirit of my young students.
Hunter Clarke (MSAE 2003) lives and works in the historic Arts and Crafts village of Ardencroft, Delaware. Her daughter Maggie is seven months old, and Hunter still finds time to paint!

Hi All,
Monday October 8th Massart hosts an Open House for any and all to stop in and tour the college. Folks from the neighborhood, potential students and their families as well as those from further away or with gallery interests and more come along. The event will take place from 10am-4pm. The college is asking departments to identify students in the major who are interested in representing the college, the major and themselves that day through working in their open studios and meeting / greeting / chatting / welcoming. As you can see from the note below, students will be paid for this work and receive a t-shirt. I would love to staff and show off our studios and you all! So if you are free on this day and would like to work (with pleasant interruptions!) in your studio that day and make some money too, please do be in touch with me and I will put you in touch with Kyle. I am thinking that it would be great to have a student from each AE track at least….one Art Teacher Ed person; one Studio Ed person; one Community Ed person; one Museum Ed person; and one or two MSAE students?
Below please find my contact info and be in touch asap please?
Warm regards,
Maureen
