The Boston Public Schools will have 800 teaching positions available for outstanding current and aspiring teachers, some of which may be in art.  If you would like to explore teaching in the Boston schools, two important events are coming up soon, and they take place right in our neighborhood, at Boston Latin.

Bakalar/Paine Gallery Attendants for 2014-2015

The Bakalar & Paine Galleries are now hiring 2014-2015 Gallery Attendants!
Gallery Attendants are vital members of the gallery team who provide an invaluable service to the college and the public by overseeing the safety of exhibited artwork while creating a welcoming environment for all visitors. Gallery Attendants are paid and undergo extensive training in museum education pedagogy and art interpretation techniques that prepare them to engage visitors in conversation about the exhibitions on view. Students who work as Gallery Attendants gain a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of professional galleries and museums, as well as valuable experience toward careers in this growing field.
The deadline to apply for the 2014-2015 Gallery Attendant position is Monday, March 31, 2014 by 5PM. All applications must be accompanied by a resume. You may download an application here.

Full-time Art Teacher / Lexington High School

There will be a full-time opening for a visual arts teacher at Lexington High School, to start in August 2014.  See the job posting here.

In addition,  there will be two long-term sub positions for art teachers to cover a maternity leave and a leave-of-absence.
