Art Education Position Announcement

The School of Art at Illinois State University seeks a three-quarter time, non-tenure-track lectureship in Art Education to begin August 15, 2014 with the possibility of renewal for a second year.  The successful candidate will have the ability to teach theory and methods at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Responsibilities include teaching three courses per term encompassing topics such as Art for Elementary Schools, Art for Diverse Populations, Technology for Public Schools, and appropriate graduate level topics.  The supervision of student teachers may be assigned in place of one course, and can involve travel around the state.  Committee service is not expected.  The salary is consistent with non-tenure-track assignments within the School of Art and includes 75% benefits.  For details, see: www.hr.illinoisstate.edu/prospective/benefits. Art Director for Camp Harbor View on Long Island in Boston Harbor

Bakalar/Paine Gallery Attendants for 2014-2015

The Bakalar & Paine Galleries are now hiring 2014-2015 Gallery Attendants!
Gallery Attendants are vital members of the gallery team who provide an invaluable service to the college and the public by overseeing the safety of exhibited artwork while creating a welcoming environment for all visitors. Gallery Attendants are paid and undergo extensive training in museum education pedagogy and art interpretation techniques that prepare them to engage visitors in conversation about the exhibitions on view. Students who work as Gallery Attendants gain a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of professional galleries and museums, as well as valuable experience toward careers in this growing field.
