Tamara Safford (BFA 2011) is working at The Walnut Street Center in Somerville, teaching art, writing, and counting skills. The Walnut Street Center is a human service agency which provides comprehensive support services to adults who have developmental disabilities.
The Center is currently producing a puppet show, and on May 5-6 will open a Deaf Blind show at their Creative Union Gallery, 29A Union Square, Somerville as part of Somerville Open Studios. This show will be tactile; onlookers will wear eye quilts and feel the works. Smells, sights, sounds and tastes will be included.
Tamara’s work includes one afternoon a week at the Creative Union Gallery.
