Studio Education major Steven Spencer, whose studio concentration is painting, has been nominated by the 2D Fine Arts faculty to apply to the prestigious Yale/Norfolk School of Art Summer Program.

MassArt and selected colleges, universities, and professional art schools across the country and abroad are invited to nominate two candidates who are currently enrolled as juniors in their programs. Nominees who are accepted receive full tuition, room, and board for the six-week summer program at the Stoeckel Estate in northwestern Connecticut.

At Yale/Norfolk students follow a required program of painting/mixed-media, drawing/printmaking, photography/moving-image, and critical theory.

Distinguished artists are on both the resident and the visiting faculty. The visiting faculty provide workshops, lectures, and individual criticism.
