About

The MassArt Library Zine and Minicomic Collection is located on the 12th floor in the library. The collection does not circulate and is available when the library is open. All are welcome to read and enjoy the zines and minicomics in the library.

The MassArt Library Zine and Minicomic Collection focuses on local art zines and minicomics. While we do purchase and collect zines and minicomics from around the world, the collection is not and is not intended to be comprehensive. Also, the collection is intended for use, not for preservation.

For more information about the Library and for Library hours, please visit the MassArt Library website.

For more information about other zine and minicomic resources at the MassArt Library, please visit the Zine and Minicomic Research Guide.

Donations:

We welcome gifts of zines and minicomics, particularly those made by the MassArt community. However, gifts are only accepted when they are given without restrictions or conditions, and the Library reserves the right to decline or discard any items not suited for the collection. Although we do collect zines and minicomics that deal with difficult subjects or analyze hate speech, we do not accept racist, sexist, homophobic or other hateful materials.

Please understand that as a part of the Library’s collection, these zines and minicomics will be read and used for teaching by the MassArt community. Because of the often highly personal content of zines, makers may object to having their material being publicly accessible. Please contact Katie Riel if you have concerns you would like to discuss.

All information on the website about the zines/minicomics in the collection was taken from the zine/minicomic. Subjects were assigned by a librarian.

If your zine or minicomic is in the MassArt Library collection and you have a question or concern about how your work is represented on the website, please contact Katie Riel.
