DoF:

Shoot 100 images in RAW format using manual settings:

  • 50 using minimal DoF (selective focus: use wide apertures, long focal lengths, and GET CLOSE to achieve this effect.)
  • 50 using maximum DoF (lots of focused planes: use small apertures, short focal lengths, and BACK UP to achieve this effect.)

Review the DoF Tech Info and DoF Image Examples as guides.

Have images offloaded or ready for offload at the start of our 6/15 class meeting.

MOTION:

Shoot 100 images in RAW format using manual settings, comprised of some combination of the following (try all techniques):

  1. Photographing Moving Subjects
  2. Photographing with a moving camera (panning—all kinds)
  3. Freezing motion with fast shutter speeds
  4. Rendering Motion creatively with slow shutter speeds

Review the Motion Lecture and all current class video recordings and handouts if necessary.

Have RAW images offloaded and narrowed down by your 1:1 lab session on 6/22.

FOR CRIT 1:

*All students upload 8 final, processed JPEGs to Google Drive by 5pm on Thursday 6/24: [ 4  DoF / 4 Motion ]
