END OF MFA-LR SUMMER RESIDENCY REVIEWS
End-of-Summer Reviews are held during the final week of each summer residency. During these 30-minute individual critiques, students present the work they have developed over the course of the summer residency. Studio faculty and guest critics provide feedback and lead discussion.
End-of-Summer reviews, in addition to providing critical feedback for students, serve as important program-wide community-building gatherings. Students not only receive feedback about their own work, but also see the work of their peers and hear discussions led by faculty and guest critics. All students are required to attend the final reviews of all members of their own cohort, and are strongly encouraged to attend all reviews of other cohorts as well.
Thesis reviews are generally held at the MassArt x SoWa gallery, and reviews for returning students are held throughout campus, in rooms reserved by the graduate programs team. Students will sign up for their review slot, on the day reserved for your cohort once the sign up is released. At the bottom of the sign-up document there will be descriptions of the reserved rooms. If you require a different room/space not listed there, please reach out ASAP to Felicia Scott Flint <fdscott@massart.edu>.
