Visual Arts Position at Millbrook School

Millbrook School seeks a visual arts teacher to teach drawing and both digital and darkroom photography, primarily at the beginning level.  The teacher will join a vibrant, highly collaborative Arts department, working in the Holbrook Arts Center, where all visual and performing arts are gathered under one roof.

Interest in the importance of the arts in 21st century pedagogy, critical thinking, and continued professional growth as both a teacher and an artist are essential. Millbrook is a mission-based boarding high school; coaching and residential life duty are important components of this position. Energy for adolescents, adaptability, humor, and integrity are the hallmarks of Millbrook’s faculty. Housing is provided; salary is competitive.

Staff Openings at Maine Arts Camp This Summer!

Dorm Counselor/Arts instructor – Maine Arts Camp

Maine Arts Camp, www.maineartscamp.com, is an overnight camp for children ages 9-16. Our camp is a small, inclusive & creative camp community.  We are located on the campus of Unity College, in Unity, Maine.  Our camp season for staff runs from June 29 – August 2, 2015. We are looking staff interested in living and caring for campers for a month during the summer.  We offer about 55 activities, including a wide variety in the arts (painting, drawing,anime, pottery, hand building, metal jewelry, stained glass, sculpture, sewing and more). Besides the arts, our activities include music, theater, dance, culinary arts, film making, archery, kayaking/canoeing, biking, yoga and much more.

The dorm counselor position is a combination of leading/assisting in activities during the day, working as a dorm counselor (living with the campers 24/7), and helping out wherever needed. We are specifically looking for staff who are future teachers or those who have a passion in working with children.

We are very much a typical camp, with camp songs, camp fires, friendship building, etc.. With a limited enrollment of about 100 campers, we have a dedicated & talented staff, interested in working with kids/teens and helping them gain skills and grow, with many current and future teachers on staff.

Volunteers Needed for BPS Youth Art Month (YAM) Exhibition

The Boston Public Schools Visual & Performing Arts Department is seeking volunteers to assist with Youth Art Month (YAM), an exhibition and celebration of BPS student artwork at Boston City Hall.
The YAM exhibit will be on view at City Hall from April 7-May 3, 2015. Volunteers are needed to assist in the installation of the exhibit on March 31-April 2, and the Opening Gala Reception on April 7.
