William Kentridge:  Anything is Possible
a documentary produced by Art 21

Monday, October 4, 6:00pm
Tower Auditorium

MassArt has been chosen as a select venue to screen this film before it airs nationally on PBS on October 21st.

Following the screening, there will be an engaging discussion inspired by Kentridge’s methodology of collaboration, play, and experimentation.  Panelists from MassArt and Berklee College of Music will involve the audience in debate about the possibilities of contemporary practice in a variety of fields.

Lois Hetland, who is an Evaluation Consultant to Art 21, will moderate the panel, and Steve Locke will be a panelist. Lois says,”It’s a wonderful film that says a lot about contemporary practice and implies a lot about how we teach art in 2010.”

Studio Investigations July 2010

Johnforweb

John Crowe’s two-week art camp/boot camp, also known as Studio Investigations, concluded on July 29 with an informal exhibit in the halls and studios of the South Building.  This was the first class for our incoming MSAE students and one of the last classes in their program for several MAT students.

It was an intense two weeks of work, play, and artistic breakthroughs for the campers.  The first week they speed-dated different materials, processes, and concepts.  Over the weekend they had to go steady with one of them, and the second week they got married  and produced the body of work that became their exhibit on this last day of the class.

See some images from the show below.
