Saturday Studios: Exhibit of Student Work
Exhibit: April 27 – May 2
Reception: Saturday, May 2, 11:30 am.
The Art Education department announces an exhibition of art by students in the Saturday Studios youth program, opening April 27th, and culminating with a reception on May 2nd.
Saturday Studios is an over 75 year-old tradition taught by undergraduate and graduate students of the Art Education program each semester. The classes are all taught on MassArt’s unique urban college campus, and are offered to students from elementary to high school ages. Teachers develop innovative curriculum highlighting 2 and 3-dimensional techniques, in studios including Middle and High School Painting, Comics, Art Explorations I and II, Fashion and Fibers, Middle School Sculpture, Mixed Media Sculpture, The Figure, Photography, 21st Century Drawing, and Animation. The program serves to give students a meaningful art making experience, and build the teaching repertoire of the student teachers.
The exhibition will be open to the public beginning Monday, April 27th 2015 from 10 AM to 6 PM in the Arnheim Gallery and the South Crackatorium Gallery, with a reception on Saturday, May 2rd at 11:30 AM. The gallery is located in South Hall, 621 Huntington Avenue, Boston MA.
