Casey Bell (BFA May 2009) will be the Program Coordinator at IBA, Cacique Youth Learning Center in  South Boston.

At this year’s Boston Globe Scholastic Awards, Masconomet Regional High and Middle School in Topsfield  won more awards than any other school in the state.  

Congratulations to  our many Art Education alums who teach at Masconomet:  Ursina Amsler (MSAE 2006),  Julie Colotti (TPP 2007, current MSAE student),  Yvonne (Wiktorowski) Malinowski (MSAE 2002), Elizabeth Saitta (TPP 2004, current MSAE student), and Joseph Yutkins (MSAE 2008).   Most of the faculty of the Art Department at the middle and high school are in fact our alums, as is Art Department head Walter Meinelt.

 Mardi Reed (MSAE 1994) , artist and teacher, will be offering the following workshops in the spring and next fall:

Workshop in "Drawing Through Insight"
Saturday April 25th 10:00 to 4:00
Drawing skills are not necessary to explore personal marks.  Use drawing to develop insight and focus on life change.  Combine spontaneous drawing with writing words.  Begin to draw in a journal format.
Held at Mardi’s studio in Jamaica Plain.
$75 includes materials.

Walk and Draw with Mardi at Franklin Park
Saturday May 16th 9:30 to 12:30
Explore and draw nature and the ruins in historic Olmstead parklands. We will meet at the top of Green Street, Glen Hill Road Entrance.
$25  Bring sketchbook and drawing materials

 Monhegan Island Experience
October 6th and 7th 9:00 to 5:00
Walk and sketch in the morning and learn printing techniques each afternoon at the Curator Cottage Studio by the Sea.
Monhegan Island is 20 miles off the coast of Maine and has 15 miles of hiking trails.
