A Message from the Chair

Dear Art Education Students,

Welcome back to MassArt. I am looking forward to another great year working, making and teaching with you. As we start the new academic year, I am excited to announce the addition of Dr. Adriana Katzew to our faculty. Dr. Katzew comes to us most recently from the University of Vermont. She completed her doctorate at Harvard and also has a law degree. Adriana brings expertise in many areas including issues of social justice and community arts. Please join me in welcoming her to the department. Also, John Giordano returns from sabbatical. Ask him how his doctoral studies are going. I know he is thrilled to return to MassArt to work with our students. All of the faculty and administrative staff eagerly anticipate another year filled with new discoveries, challenges, opportunities and learning.

Mardi Reed Workshops

Mardi Reed (MSAE ’94) will be teaching workshops on Printing without a Press on Mondays from 5 to 7:30 in August at Puddingstone Studio in Jamaica Plain. On October 4th, 5th and 6 she will offer "A Monhegan Island Experience," with walking and sketching in the mornings and printing in the afternoons.
