Sharron Penicaud

Sharron (better known as "Shay") Penicaud (TPP 2007), art teacher in Lowell,  will be walking in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer May 17-18.  She will be training for months and has already raised $5,000 and hopes to raise more.

Choosing to Participate / Facing History and Ourselves
Boston Public Library, Copley Square
January 20 – May 20, 2008

This interactive, multi-media exhibition encourages people of all ages to consider the consequences of their everyday choices and to make a difference in their own schools and communities.  Through key media sponsors and partnerships with leading corporate, civic, cultural, and educational organizations, Choosing to Participate seeks to engage the greater Boston community in a broad-ranging dialogue about how to build a stonger, more respectful society.  Facing History and Ourselves  expects over 10,000 middle and high school students to tour the exhibition during its showing at the Boston Public Library.

Lyssa Paluay's New Baby

Alexander Paluay Kelley was born January 12.

Lyssa Paluay, who teaches Portfolio in the Art Education Department as well as being a Studio Foundation faculty member, is on leave this semester.  She and Alexander are doing fine. 

 

Jen Hall in New Book

Jennifer Hall, Professor in the Art Education Department, is included in a new publication, Blaze: Discourse on Art, Women, and Feminism.

Co-editited by Karen E. Frostig and Kathy A. Halamka, the book features fourteen detailed and well-documented feminist histories that narrate a number of pertinent strands of activism regarding feminist art, scholarship, and organizational development while exploring current crossroads.
