Teen New Media – External Programs Internship
RYMAEC (Teacher Consortium) and New Work Mentor Program

The Teen New Media – External Programs Intern will assist in managing two programs:

1) The New England Regional Youth Media Arts Educator Consortium (RYMAEC) RYMAEC, funded and coordinated by the ICA, is a group of youth media arts educators who have been meeting regularly for 3 years to determine the best way to promote the field, for both the professionals and the students. This position would assist with the following:
a. communicating with the advisory board
b. communicating with membership
c. expanding our reach to a wider group of youth media educators
d. event planning for annual gathering
e. updating the www.rymaec.org website as necessary
f. compiling and sending the monthly community emails

2) New Work Mentor Program – The New Work Mentor Program is an initiative of the ICA Fast Forward Program and RAW Art Works Real to Reel Film School. The goal of the program is to facilitate the creation of new teen work by providing advanced students with the opportunity to receive production mentorship from professional artists. The position would assist with the following:
a. Communicating with students, mentors and review panel
b. Event planning for Speed Pitch Session
c. Coordinating and organizing online submissions from students

Schedule:
Minimum 2 days, preferably Tuesdays Wednesdays, 10:30 – 6:30 PM
Full Academic Year preferred (October – May)

This internship can be combined with the Teen New Media – Internal Programs Internship for a full time internship position.

This is an unpaid internship. The person will receive direct mentoring from the program coordinator in any areas of particular interest, as well as in areas necessary for successful execution of duties. Evaluation for this internship will occur at the end of the program.
