With the Berwick, Nathalie Miebach will be working on a project called, "Weather Suits for Cities". The project focuses on exploring the difference of both human perspective and physical variability of weather within an urban environment, for which Miebach will build a portable weather station that is entirely constructed on her body. Almost like a ‘weather suit’, this weather station will record weather on a minute-by-minute basis – while she is walking through a park, riding the T or biking to work, to record the invisible meteorological changes within the urban landscape. At the same time, this weather suit will be her vehicle through which to address larger questions as to how the meaning and function of weather articulates itself and changes in an urban environment, particularly in an age of human-induced climate change.

Nathalie Miebach holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Chinese from Oberlin College and a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Master of Art Education from Massachusetts College of Art. Originally from Germany and France, she has spent many years living and traveling in Southeast Asia and the United States. Recent exhibit highlights include the Sculpture Center 2006 Outstanding Student Sculpture Award at Grounds for Sculpture, the DeCordova Annual Exhibit 2007 and a solo show in April, 2008, at the Nielsen Gallery in Boston. One day she hopes to go to Antarctica to record weather and make sculptures with 24 hour sunlight.
