What is a Professional Exchange?

Students, faculty, and staff at MassArt have a tradition of engaging with professional artists, educators, and practitioners in order to stay alert to contemporary trends and issues in the arts and learning .

In the spring of 2013, we formalized this tradition by gathering together for dinner and discussion about best practices between veteran and emerging artist teachers.

This fall, we hope to learn more about ways that the arts and learning require artists and educators to use interdisciplinary methods and multiple identities.

Whether you are an art student, gallery curator, community educator, or more, we want to join together with you to better understand how the arts help us to bridge gaps between our student and future professional lives. Let’s find out what we can discover together. As always, food and friendship will be served with gusto!

 Our guiding questions for this evening include:

How do we best engage in interdisciplinary artistic practices?

How do arts and educational professionals manage multiple identities
that develop in their work?
