The Bakalar & Paine Galleries are now hiring for the 2013-2014 academic year!
Gallery Attendants are vital members of the gallery team who provide an invaluable service to the college and the public by overseeing the safety of exhibited artwork while creating a welcoming environment for all visitors. Gallery Attendants are paid and undergo extensive training in art interpretation methods, museum education pedagogy, and guarding techniques. Students who work as Gallery Attendants gain a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of professional galleries and museums, as well as valuable experience toward careers in this growing field.
The deadline to apply for the 2013-2014 Gallery Attendant position is Monday, April 1, 2013 by 9:00 am. All applications must be accompanied by a resume. You may download and complete a digital version of the application at http://www.tinyurl.com/GalleryAttendants.
While we do not require prior experience in order to apply for this position, successful candidates are:
- Reliable and responsible
- Interested in museum work and public engagement
- Able to commit to working with us for the full 2013-2014 academic year
