Long Lake Camp for the Arts, America’s premier fine arts and performing arts summer camp, is seeking two Jewelry / Metals Instructors for this summer.
When: June 18 to August 26. 2013.
Where: Long Lake Camp for the Arts, in the middle of the gorgeous Adirondack Park of upstate NY. Long Lake, NY, 12847. We are a private estate with waterfront property and excellent housing and performing spaces. We hire 155 staff each summer for only 200 to 250 campers per session.
What: Jewelry/metals/silversmith instructor and bunk counselor to campers aged 10 to 16. Offering private instructing for beginners through advanced. We have a very extensive Fine Arts department with 21 artists in residence and 16 art studios spread over three buildings. Our metals studio needs two instructors for the summer. We offer children classes in all forms and styles of metals and jewelry, such as wire work- stone setting, body art, enameling, glass rod, functional as well as decorative and both modern and classic interpretations of what Jewelry/silversmithing can be. We have a well stocked studio, and the campers are self-choosing your studio to learn in, so they are dedicated and excited to be there to learn and develop a new or existing passion. You are surrounded by other artists and will become very quickly a member of our arts community.
Who: We need passionate, talented artists, either education or studio majors, graduates or undergrads. You must be friendly and of course like children. A part of your job is living in the bunk with the campers, acting like a big brother/sister for the summer. You must want to share your love of art with the campers and like the idea of having your own metals studio for the summer.
