Art Specialist for Summer School Program

The Alliance for Inclusion and Prevention (AIP) is hiring an Art Specialist for the Summer School program at the Frederick Pilot Middle School in Dorchester.

The summer program will provide academics and enrichment for 80 Frederick middle school students who have been referred by their teachers and administrators. The Art Specialist will be responsible for creating and leading daily art activities for groups of 20 students who need additional support academically, emotionally and/or socially. An Activity Assistant will be provided, resulting in a teacher:student ratio of 1:10. The activities should involve traditional art materials and lesson plan structure can be provided.

The hours for this position are: Monday – Thursday, 11:30 am to 3:00 pm and Fridays, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. The program will run for 5 weeks, from Monday, July 2nd through Friday, August 3rd.

Rate: $25/hour

Staff Training will consist of approximately 10 hours during the week of June 25th.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:
-21 years of age or older
-at least 2 years of college education
-at least 1 year of youth work experience
-art interest required, art teaching experience preferred
-ability to work all required days/hours
