Teen New Media – Internal Programs Internship
Digital Workshops and the Fast Forward Program
The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston

The Teen New Media – Internal Programs Intern will assist in managing two areas:

1) Digital Workshops – The Teen New Media Program offers several workshops over the course of the year to middle and high school students in the Boston area. The intern would assist with the following:
a. Recruitment and intake
b. In-class instruction
c. Lab preparation
d. Website management (student profiles and art archiving)
e. Materials management

2) Fast Forward Program – The ICA’s Fast Forward program is an advanced audio and video production program for high school students. It runs from October through June, culminating with an end-of-year screening in the ICA’s theater. In addition to the above listed under Digital Workshop, the intern would assist with the following:
a. Mentoring with students in Fast Forward
b. Coordinating with the External Programs Intern regarding New Work Mentor Program
c. Event planning for Work-in-progress and end of year screening
d. Design work for Fast Forward publications
e. Distribution of work to youth video festivals

Schedule:
Minimum 2 days, including Friday, 11:00 – 7:00 PM
Full Academic Year preferred (October – May)
This internship can be combined with the Teen New Media – External Programs Internship for a full time internship position.

This is an unpaid internship. The person will receive direct mentoring from the program coordinator in any areas of particular interest, as well as in areas necessary for successful execution of duties. Evaluation for this internship will occur at the end of the program.
