National LGBT Health Education Center

Transgender 101 and Trans Bodies, Trans Selves provides a good overview. The Sylvia Rivera Law Project also has a good page on “Trans 101” issues. For first hand accounts, “Redefining Realness” is a very approachable book that addresses a lot of the barriers and problems trans people face.  For more college age accounts, see “Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out” and the documentary series, TransGeneration, which is specifically about trans students.

The Tiffany Club of New England (TCNE)

TCNE is a social and support organization for the transgender community.  The organization provides social opportunities, a referral service to local therapists, support groups, and opportunities for education regarding transgenderism, gender dysphoria, transexuality, transvestism, and crossdressing.
