Major Studio 1 – Oil Painting Project (Initial Thoughts)

Concept 1cConcept Art for New Painting –

During the first part of summer, I began creating images of large, monumental heads situated in a landscape. At first, I considered them to be ‘disembodied’ but have since realized that they are an extension of the landscape in a form that is recognizable to humans.

Through painting, I am able to create realities that I am unable to create through my sculpture. This aspect of my 2D work is really important in my practice as I seek to move people into my work.
