Art as Spiritual Process and the Road to Worldbuilding
In The Beginning, MassArt 2020
This is a sample view of my works and some of my plans where we’re going
Wrapped stones in seine twine with hooks made of oak and steel and brass horns
Steel Flower forms forged from steel bars and sheet steel
This was done in 2006 protesting the lynching of African Americans. The title is based upon the Billie Holiday song, “Strange Fruit,” written by Abel Meeropol. It is made of steel wrapped around stone with seine twine, and the stand is forged steel pipe and bar
This was an homage to Van Gogh of his artwork of the same title. The disks rattle in the wind creating sound. The frame was of steel with the cymbals made of aluminum, brass and copper
The Phoenix Rising was a commissioned piece repouseed in sheet steel
This Tree of Life menorah is made of hand forged steel
This bench was made for the ALS unit of a nursing home in Chelsea, Massachusetts
Closeup of the bench, showing the handmade letters, all individually made
This was the concept of Ben Walker of our community acupuncture center. These are formed, annealed brass sheets
This is formed and repoussed brass with copper pegs inserted into an oak plaque
