Malaya Barr

I’m breathing in a world of my own right now

A choking atmosphere you’ll never know

Tear me apart and pull out my guts

You’ll find twigs, fragile leaves, growth new and rot

Your voice sounds foreign on your tongue

Swallowing your air feels harsh in my lungs

I’ve grown a wall of vine to keep you far from me

For I tremble and die and in open sunlight bleed

I do all I can to push you far from me

Your air drains the life that I breathe
