Samsara

The word reincarnate:

lets out a bitter taste on my tongue

an incongruous excuse

mass produced by puppet gods

overturned by the hippie herds

though I will say

I am birthed twice in this lifetime

a loophole I discovered to cheat god

The first time by holy chants

of my mother

a god herself

The second time I birthed myself

as thighs glistened

I uncoiled into my arms

fluid lungs heaving

memories of the past l e  a   v    i     n      g

and since that holy hour

she invites herself

into my dreamscape and I hold her

close my eight year old self

furr feeling fervorous and ferocious

a fiend

of mumma’s girlhood dreams

I have mocked god in my second life
