Joel Gray

Cracked Knuckles, Stiff Neck

Groggy and tired

With a bitter taste in his mouth

He steps out of his jeep – A jeep older than him

Performing a big, ugly stretch

With cracked knuckles and a stiff neck

And a gash down his bottom lip

He trudges towards the Chevron

Weaving through each aisle

Almost in limbo

Swiping his prized gas station coffee

He thanks the cashier

And rides off
