The vitality of organic form in all its protean configurations – its shapes and its textures, its sounds and its movements, its rhythms and cycles, its patterns and its poetry are at the heart of the drawings I create. My work is a confluence of mark making sprung from the natural world that I reconfigure with charcoal, ink and crayon into new abstractions that surge with sentient energy.
Water rushing over rock, sweeping, swelling rolls of clouds, shadows shifting through a canopy of trees commingle in new pictorial relationships. In making my drawings as an amalgamation of organic form, I capture the fleeting, nimble nodes of constant change that are always at work in the natural world.
