Public Lego’s

For this experience, I wanted to create a creative and collaborative interaction by providing space and materials that facilitate making something. I started in the library, but found that a lot of the people walking by were busy working, or nervous about making noise. I then moved to the cafeteria, where people were a little more willing to engage. But there was still a large jump from looking over curiously to actually joining in. It took a verbal invitation, as well as some additional encouragement to bring people over.

For me, delight means breaking free from self-consciousness, and being happy during the interaction.

I was a bit self conscious during this project, so it made me a little more hesitant to invite people over to play. I still think there can be a space where free play can be easily accessible….
