From the middle of August to the most recent weeks beside the brushes and paints in the small pace at home, I also packed my camera bag and explored many places in Ontario, documented sights and images of the beloved province through seasons change. My love for photography compliments my passion for painting, it has aided as a reference source for many landscape paintings of Western Canada from early 2000s, now the focus is my home province.
Ontario shares borders of four of the five Great Lakes with the USA yet it sometimes is overlooked for its expansive and impressive beauty. I walked, hiked, drove solo to various regions in every direction: north towards Sudbury, west past Niagara region and east to Muskoka and Huntsville; I visited several provincial parks as well as remote, rural hamlets, discovered places of interest as well as deserted corners that many would not venture to. These photos are from a small selection of images of the surrounding lands in southern Ontario through my lens, over the course of three seasons.
Note: Except for minor cropping and editing, these photos were not retouched by Photoshop. My goal is to capture a good composition with minimal interference or manipulation of the true view.
