Looking at seeds, pollen, spores, and cells as well as seed pods, leaves, mushrooms, and other overall structures I began to see a variety of scale and form as important to the work.
As the paper and bioplastic material explorations evolved I began to consider how they might be incorporated into the forms.
I began filling them, weaving into them, covering them, and stitching them together.
I can see light playing a role in illuminating them from behind or within, casting shadows, and bringing seasonal cycles into the gallery.
In their installation form, these pieces will reside on the wall, however, each of them will also be wearable as a brooch. In addition to the incorporation of bio-materials, pin mechanisms, as well as color variations, still need to be resolved.
