“This is a mini digital version of a book I made when I was an artist abroad in Japan. There was a group exhibition in Osaka with the theme, ‘sora, mimi, ito’ meaning ‘sky, ears, thread’ for the Itohen gallery. I interpreted the theme with a square shaped book wrapped in string unfolding to reveal Japan’s landscape. When I look at the modern Japanese landscape, I see continuous lines of communication, telephone wires connecting friends and family. The Japanese sky is unique in its infinite lines against a mountainous and architectural backdrop. Can you imagine all the conversations going on in the sky through telephone threads?”–(Artist’s description).

“The books were sold at Printed Matter in New York and at On Sundays of Watarium Museum in Tokyo.”
