Josiah McElheny: Some Pictures of the Infinite

Lois Hetland will join Dr. David Weinberg, Professor of Astronomy, Ohio State University and collaborator on Josiah McElheny’s riveting Island Universe and other work, and  Bang Wong , Creative Director of the  Broad Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University, in a discussion that explores the challenges of creating visual representations of scientific knowledge. The exchange of ideas offers a glimpse into how scientists visualize data for public consumption, and identifies similarities practiced by visual artists.
